Meet your photographer

Becoming a dad changed the way I see photographs. I watched my wife’s belly grow, stayed up through the newborn nights, and somehow watched a crawling baby turn into a kid running through the house. It all moves impossibly fast.

That’s why I photograph families the way I do. I want to preserve the little things that are easy to forget—the way your child reaches for you, the belly laughs, the quiet cuddles, and all the beautiful chaos in between.

As a Korean American dad, I also think a lot about the traditions passed down to me, and the ones I now get to pass on to my own kids. Photographing families across Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia, including traditional milestones like Baek-il and Dol, lets me help other families hold onto that same thread of heritage and love.

Whether I’m documenting an ordinary afternoon at home or a meaningful milestone, I want your photographs to feel unmistakably like your family.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me rolling around on the bed with my kids, trying to soak up every tiny giggle while I still can.

The photographs you’ll love most probably won’t be the perfectly posed ones.

They’ll be the soft sigh of your newborn sleeping against your chest. The way your toddler runs straight into your arms. The ridiculous face that makes your child laugh every single time. That proud little smile when your baby stands on their own for the very first time. Or the quiet pride on a grandparent's face during a Baek-il celebration.

My approach to family photography is relaxed, playful, and gently guided. I’ll step in when you need direction, but I’ll also know when to step back and let a moment unfold on its own. You don’t need perfectly behaved kids, matching smiles, or a family that knows what to do in front of a camera.

Come as you are.

Because I’m not trying to make your family look perfect. I’m trying to make photographs that feel like your family—warm, connected, a little chaotic, and completely yours.

Years from now, I want these images to bring you back to more than what this season looked like. I want you to remember what it felt like.
